DIM® Enhanced is a microencapsulated form of diindolylmethane (DIM) designed to promote healthy estrogen balance. Curcuminoids and green tea extract are also included alongside wasabia.
Healthy hormone detoxification is a crucial part of the normal functioning of organs, including the breast. DIM is known to help stimulate natural detoxification enzymes to support healthy estrogen metabolism. As a natural component derived from indole-3-carbinole and cruciferous vegetables, DIM has been shown in clinical research to favour the production of the estrogen metabolite 2-hydroxysterone over the more deleterious 16-hydroxyestrone. DIM can also decrease the severity and duration of recurrent breast pain and promote antioxidant support. Microencapsulated DIM® by BioResponse® is a patented, absorption-enhancing formulation to ensure proper assimilation by the body. It is the only DIM with proven absorption and activity demonstrated in independently performed clinical studies.
Polyphenols in green tea, specifically the catechins, provide the primary health promoting benefits associated with green tea consumption. Catechins, most notably epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), are effective antioxidants and decrease harmful oxidative damage. Similarly, curcuminoids are the naturally occurring bioactive compounds from turmeric. Since curcuminoids exhibit poor absorption when consumed orally, DIM® Enhanced contains a highly bioavailable curcumin complex called MERIVA®. Pharmacokinetic comparison studies have shown MERIVA® to have up to a 20-fold improvement in bioavailability versus the standard 95% turmeric extracts.
Wasabia japonica (a member of the cruciferous vegetable family) contains long chain isothiocyanates (ITCs), which are unique to wasabia.
